Kit and uniform help
Where a job coach is involved, many will contribute towards kit and uniform. We deal with them directly.
Peer support groups
You train alongside people in the same position, and the group tends to be the reason people finish.
Guest speakers and workshops
Industry sessions on what is actually happening in salons now, rather than what was true ten years ago.
Career support afterwards
Help with finding work, and introductions to salon owners. You can come back to us about it later too.
A route to Level 3
Finish Level 2 and there is a funded Level 3 waiting, if you want to keep going.

Who is eligible?
You need to be 19 or over and living in England. Beyond that it depends on your situation, usually being on Universal Credit or earning under £25,000. Ring us and we will check properly in a couple of minutes.
Is it really fully funded?
Yes, for eligible learners. It is paid for through the Adult Skills Fund and local council funding. There is no loan, no credit check and nothing to pay back.
What qualification do I get?
A recognised Level 2 Diploma in Women's Hairdressing, covering cutting, colouring and styling.
How long does it take?
22 to 24 weeks. Two days a week: one day in the training centre and one day of home learning. You get the full timetable at the start.
Can I do it while working?
Yes. It is part time by design, and a lot of our learners are working or have children at home.
Do I need to buy my own kit?
We provide what you need for training. For practising at home we recommend a professional kit and can get you a discounted price. If you have a job coach, they will often contribute.
Will I work on real clients?
Yes, and early on. Supervised by tutors who still work in the trade. It is the part that builds the confidence.
Is it online or in person?
Both. Theory is online in your own time, and the practical is in person, because you cannot learn to cut hair through a screen.
Where does the training happen?
At our training centre in Folkestone, Kent.
Are there assessments?
Yes, practical assessments and written work. Your tutors prepare you for all of it, and nobody is left to work it out alone.
What happens after I finish?
Career advice, help finding work, and introductions to salon owners. You can also carry straight on to our funded Level 3.
What if I have to stop partway through?
Tell us as soon as you know. Deferring or re-enrolling later is usually possible, and it is a conversation rather than a problem.

We ring you. Usually within two working days, to check the funding fits and answer whatever you want to ask.
You come and see the salon. Meet the tutors, see where you would be training, and decide properly.
We confirm your place and your start date. Then you get the full timetable for the whole course.
