£8.5m+ of funded training delivered
TNB is a government approved training provider. We train business teams in AI, leadership and the skills their business runs on, and we train individuals in hairdressing, teaching and digital skills. We find the funding that pays for it and we handle the paperwork. Ofsted Grade 2, and we have been doing this since 2004.
"Nobody has ever told us what funding we could get."
We hear this from almost every owner we sit down with.
"I assumed I had missed my chance to retrain."
Funding has no upper age limit. People start again at forty all the time.
"I thought funding meant forms."
It does. We fill them in.
Training for a business and training for yourself work differently, so pick the one that is you. We will show you what is involved, how long it takes, and what the government pays for.
"I run a business and my team need training."
Funded training for your own staff, built around how you actually work.
"I want to train or retrain myself."
Hairdressing, teaching and digital skills. Funded for a lot of people.
"I am honestly not sure which one I am."
Ring us. Five minutes and we will tell you, including if the answer is no.
Your own people, trained around their normal job, on the things the business actually needs. AI and automation, leadership and management, marketing and customer service. If you run a salon or a clinic we train your staff on their qualifications too. Government funding covers up to £18,000 of training per person and nothing at all for anyone under 25. We work out what you qualify for and we do the paperwork.
What this looks like for a businessHairdressing, digital skills or teaching if you want to train other people. Taught by people who have done the job rather than only read about it, with practical sessions you actually turn up to. If you are 19 or over and earning under £25,000, there is a good chance the government pays for it.
See all coursesYour team is stretched. Everyone is busy, the skills gaps slow you down, and the work nobody else can do comes straight back to you.
Your people need training and it keeps getting pushed back. The budget, the time, and the where would I even start get in the way every single time.
Everyone says you need AI. Nobody says where to start. You are not technical, your team are wary, and you cannot afford to waste money on tools nobody opens.
Funding feels like a minefield. You have heard government money exists for training. The forms and the jargon put you off before you begin.
We have been getting funding approved since 2004. Sort that one out and the other three start to move.
You have wanted to do this for years and something has always come first.
You are already working in a salon and you need the qualification to go with the skill.
You want to teach, and you need the award before anyone will let you.
You cannot stop working to study, so it has to fit around a job and a life.
Courses run online, with practical sessions where the hands on part needs them.
Build is the part owners actually want. You do not get there without the first two, and skipping them is where training money gets wasted.
AI and automation, leadership, marketing and customer service, and the everyday skills the business actually runs on. Done properly, with outcomes you can see.
Leadership, management and ongoing development. Confidence is the part people underestimate. Somebody who believes they can do the job starts taking work off you, and they stay, because you were the one who invested in them.
Better systems, better margins and a business that keeps working when you are not in the room. This is the part owners actually wanted all along.
Real names and real businesses, published with permission.
"It's a drop in the ocean compared to what we're going to get out of it."
Tim, Digitec Security and UTL Telecom SolutionsFor a business that means growth you can actually afford. For an individual it means a qualification you thought was out of reach. There is government money set aside to train people in England, and the only reason more people do not use it is that the rules are dull and the forms are long. We have been reading those rules since 2004.
For a business, up to £18,000 of training per person. Nothing at all for team members under 25, and a one off £900 plus VAT for anyone 25 and over. For individuals training in hair or digital skills a lot of people pay nothing at all. We tell you the exact figure before anything is committed.
You do not need to know what the course is called or which fund pays for it. That is our job. Send us a few lines about the business, or about what you want to train in, and one of us will come back to you.
One of us reads it and rings you within a couple of days. We will tell you what is available, what the government would pay for in your case, and whether it is worth your time. If it is not, we will say so.
TNB was started in 2004 by Sarah Abel, who built it out of her own business after learning the funding system the hard way. Twenty two years on we are a small team in Folkestone that has put more than £8.5m of funded training through to businesses and individuals across England. We have worked inside the funding system for the whole of that time, and we explain it in plain English, because it is rarely explained at all.
Sarah is the author of The Power of Funding: In the Hair and Beauty Business, and a finalist for Services Entrepreneur of the Year at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards 2026.
A small, experienced team with decades between us of getting funding approved and training delivered. You deal with the same people from the first phone call through to the last certificate.
Tutors who have real industry experience. Assessors who started out as our own learners. And the people who answer the phone when you ring.
Almost all of our training runs online, which is how people actually manage to fit it around work. Hairdressing needs hands on hair, so the practical side happens at our own salon in Folkestone. We are based in Kent and we work with businesses and individuals right across England.
A few quick questions, then one of us rings you. We will tell you what funding your team qualifies for and roughly what it is worth, before you commit to anything.
Tell us what you want to do and we will tell you honestly whether the funding covers it and how long it takes. No pressure and no sales script.
